Welcome to your Midwest national parks! These parklands are part of Department of Interior Regions 3, 4, and 5. The Midwest is home to many types of parklands. The National Park Service manages national parks, preserves, monuments, historic parks, heritage areas, trails, rivers, and more. Learn more about National Park Service designations and how they differ.

The Midwest also contains eight National Heritage Areas and other sites affiliated with the National Park Service. National Heritage Areas are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes.
