Trail Maps

Choosing where to spend your time can be a challenge. Harpers Ferry NHP offers nine distinct regions to explore, including the historic Lower Town and Camp Hill districts of Harpers Ferry; Civil War battlefields and fortification sites; and trails that lead to beautiful vistas. Exploring the map above is a great way to familiarize yourself with where each region of the park is located.

Our mobile app is another great wayfinding option, featuring a map of the hiking trails, overlooks, exhibits, and other points of interest in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Park Regions

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is located at 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425, right past the park entrance. After parking, you can hike or take a shuttle bus to the Lower Town district of the park. Riding the bus is included in the park entrance fee. Learn about shuttle hours, frequency, and stops.

The Visitor Center also provides walking access to:

• Murphy-Chambers Farm trails
• Visitor Center to Lower Town trail

Lower Town District

Park shuttle buses transport visitors from the Visitor Center to Lower Town, where about four street blocks are lined with museums and exhibits. Parking is extremely limited in Lower Town. Learn more about parking in this area.

A number of trails start from Lower Town, including:

• Camp Hill and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail
• Virginius Island and Hall's Island trails
• Maryland Heights trail
• Loudoun Heights trail
• Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park towpath
