If you happen to stumble across 60 5th graders in the Santa Monica Mountains wearing “I’m a SHRUB” t-shirts, then you’ve just met some of our youngest park volunteers from EARTHS Magnet School. This energetic group is participating in a cross-curricular, service-learning program that engages students in restoring native habitats at the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SAMO).
