Using the NFD Logo and Artwork

national fossil day logo
Use the National Fossil Day logo and artwork to promote your NFD events.

We encourage groups to use the National Fossil Day logo to promote their NFD events and activities.

"National Fossil Day" is a trademark of the National Park Service and is intended to promote public awareness and stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their scientific and educational value.

  • The trademark symbol, ™ must be used after the first reference of National Fossil Day in every document.

The brown titanothere logo (right) is the official logo for National Fossil Day and can be used any year to promote National Fossil Day events and partners.

Each year new artwork will also be produced showing the date of national fossil day and the year. The artwork will feature a different type of fossil every year. The yearly artwork can be used to promote events during that year.

Do you have an idea for next year's artwork? Let us know!

The logo and artwork are both available in rectangular and oval formats.

The National Fossil Day logo and artwork may be used by event sponsors and official partners as follows:

  • for nonprofit, educational and promotional uses related to NFD events and activities,

  • for official NFD partners to publicize their organization's involvement and support,

  • to recognize NFD as a part of a planned celebration of Earth Science Week.
