LURAY, VA – Shenandoah National Park’s annual “Youth Art in the Park” wildflower art contest has a new twist this year ~ it’s gone virtual! Instead of mailing artwork to the park as in previous years, young artists will upload their entries to an internet platform.

The contest is for local K-12 grade-level students in public, private or city schools, and home-schooled students, in the following counties: Albemarle, Augusta, Greene, Madison, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren.

Teachers, parents and guardians may submit art for their students. Entries may be uploaded from May 15 through May 25, 2021.

For entry forms, contest rules and instructions for uploading artwork to the on-line platform, visit https://www.nps.gov/shen/youth-wildflower-art-contest.htm.

Winning artwork will be scanned for viewing on the park website. Certificates and other awards will go to the top entries, as well as “Best in Show.”
