The road closure of Brownsville Road (KY-70E) from the Mammoth Cave Parkway to the Brownsville Entrance of Mammoth Cave National Park is extended through 7 am Saturday, September 17. The temporary road closure is required for crews to complete fog sealing on the roadway. The road was set to reopen Friday morning, but the contractor has requested additional time to complete the work.
In addition to the road closure, the portion of the Mammoth Cave Hike and Bike Trail that crosses the Brownsville Road may be temporarily inaccessible during the road work. Trail bikers and hikers should use caution when entering this area.
