Welcome to Hovenweep

Hovenweep National Monument is a land of beauty and culture, of sweeping desert horizons covered with ancestral Puebloan architecture. Come experience a community's effort to rebalance their relationship with nature and protect one another.

 

Plan By Season

  Visiting in Spring

  Moderate temperatures and wildflower blooms make spring and fall Hovenweep's busiest times of year.

• 

  Visiting in Summer

  Summers at Hovenweep are hot and dry, with temperatures often reaching the high 90s and over 100ºF.

• 

  Visiting in Winter

  Hovenweep is open year-round, but services are reduced in winter. Conditions can change rapidly; be prepared for all kinds of weather.

  On July 1, 2014, Hovenweep became the seventeenth International Dark Sky Park. Hovenweep is the first dark sky park to span two states.
