Grounds of the George Rogers Clark Memorial 1936

The grounds of George Rogers Clark National Historical Park have undergone major changes since Clark and his men captured Fort Sackville from the British in 1779. In the early 20th century, prior to the construction of the Clark Memorial, the grounds were home to a variety of businesses such as:

The Central States Gas Plant

The Bierhaus Grocery Warehouse

Baltic Mills

Kuhn Grain Elevator

And many more!
