The Superintendent is continuing a closure issued on July 25, 2023, of the Smith/40-Mile Public Use Cabin within Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve as it has been found to be unsafe for public occupancy as a result of structural damage caused by the 2023 Yukon River Break-Up/Flood.

The Superintendent is rescinding the previous closure of the Kandik Public Use Cabin, as stabilization efforts have allowed safe usage of the cabin for public purposes.

Find additional information on our website regarding public use cabins within the preserve and the 2023 Yukon River Breakup. This provision is approved and will remain in effect until rescinded or superseded.
