Gelvin's Airstrip RepairedIn mid-June 2017, volunteers and National Park staff spent ten days rehabilitating the airstrip near the Gelvin’s cabin. Located 75 river miles up the Charley River, the airstrip had been unusable since 2013, when a flood washed out much of the airstrip.
Hovercraft remain prohibited in all Alaska National Parks and PreservesAs the boating and hunting seasons get underway in Yukon-Charley Rivers and other areas within the National Park System in Alaska, visitors are reminded that a recent court case has not changed the regulations which govern activities on navigable waters.
