Valles Caldera 2023 Turkey Hunt Season Begins

Jemez Springs, NM – The 2023 turkey hunt season begins today, April 15, and runs through April 30. Twenty tags were issued through the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish and each tag is good for 1 bearded turkey. The park is home to an estimated 400 Merriam turkeys.

Valles Caldera National Preserve | About 1.25 million years ago, a spectacular volcanic eruption created the 13-mile wide circular depression now known as Valles Caldera.
