The Story of Hannah TillThe march into Valley Forge did not just involve soldiers. Along with many other followers of the army, an enslaved woman named Hannah Till also made the journey. A year prior in 1776, Till’s owner had leased her to Washington, whereupon she joined his wartime staff as a skilled pastry cook.
