The park is conveniently located off of U.S. Route 422. The main entrance to the park is at the intersection of State Route 23 and North Gulph Road. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 326. From Interstate I-76, take Route 422 West to Route 23 West/Valley Forge. From State Route 252, take State Route 23 East.

Valley Forge NHP Park Grounds Hours

The park is open from 7:00 am to Dark (30 minutes after sunset) all year. Park buildings are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

Valley Forge NHP Operation Hours

The Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Park Theater plays every 30 minutes with the first showing at 9:30 am and the last showing at 4:30 pm. Washington's Headquarters is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Park buildings are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

Additional Information

Winters at Valley Forge are cold and damp with a cool spring and fall and a hot and humid summer. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended for outdoor recreation during the snowy winter season.

Valley Forge Visitor Center

The main starting point for visiting Valley Forge national Historical Park. The Visitor Center is open 362 days a year. The Visitor Center is closed all day on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New year's Day.

Permits & Reservations
Programs and tours (not including student education programs) offered by the park do not require reservations, however, partner events and private tours may. Special activities such as cultural programs, picnics, wedding ceremonies, and film and photography projects may require a Special Use Permit.

Pets
Leashed pets are welcome on Valley Forge grounds but are not permitted inside buildings. Owners must pick up after their pets and dispose of excrement in established trash bins.
