Valley Forge National Historical Park is open year-round, has no entrance fees, and welcomes around two million visitors each year. Historic buildings, statues and monuments, and 35 miles of trails can be found in this beautiful 3,500-acre landscape. Valley Forge is the location of the 1777-1778 winter encampment of the Continental Army led by General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. Here the Continental Army, still largely made up of a collection of disparate colonial militias supported by hundreds of camp followers and allies, emerged under Washington’s leadership as a cohesive and disciplined fighting force. Permits & ReservationsSpecial activities such as cultural programs, picnics, wedding ceremonies, and film and photography projects may require a Special Use Permit. Programs and tours offered by the park (not including student education programs) do not require reservations; however, partner events and private tours may. PetsLeashed pets are welcome on Valley Forge grounds but are not permitted inside buildings. Owners must pick up after their pets and dispose of excrement in established trash bins. |
