Steamtown NHS Prepares for Off Season

Scranton, PA – November brings along colder weather and shorter days, signaling a time of transition at Steamtown National Historic Site (NHS).

Friday, Nov. 4th – Sunday, Nov. 6th: final weekend for “Big Boy” Cab Tour, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.;
Saturday, Nov. 5th: final day for the “Scranton Limited” Yard Shuttle;
Sunday, Nov. 6th: begin winter hours of operation, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., daily.

The visitor center and museums at Steamtown NHS will remain open throughout the winter season. Winter weather may cause delays or closures, please call (570) 340-5200 or visit go.nps.gov/STEAconditions before making the trip. A subsequent announcement will be made outlining 2022 holiday-related events at Steamtown NHS.

Steamtown NHS is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. From Interstate-81 follow exit 185 (President Biden Expressway, formerly known as Central Scranton Expressway); then follow the brown and white signs to the park entrance at Lackawanna Avenue and Cliff Street (GPS: N 41.41, W 75.67).
