Hot Springs, AR - Thermal water service will be temporarily interrupted to inspect the main thermal water reservoir from January 26 to February 4. This work involves draining the reservoir to allow engineers and others to safely enter and complete an assessment of its current condition and conduct structural integrity testing. Crews will work extended hours and over the weekend in an effort to compress the schedule, but the water will remain off while the work is conducted. The thermal water jug fountains located on Reserve Street (in front of the park Administration building and in front of the Libbey Bathhouse) and in Hill Wheatley Plaza also will be turned off during this time.

The inspection of the thermal water system is a crucial part of the park’s efforts to ensure a continued flow of thermal water for our partners, neighbors, and visitors. We encourage regular thermal water fountain users to fill their containers prior to the temporary closure, if possible.

The Happy Hollow and Whittington cold spring fountains will remain open.
