Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)

• Ospreys can be found around nearly any body of water like rivers, saltmarshes, ponds, reservoirs, estuaries, and even coral reefs
• They love to eat live fish and they are so good at it, they are able to catch 1 in every 4 dives
• Ospreys are good at soaring and diving but since they can’t manuever as well as other hawks they stay in open areas to fly

Identification Information:

• Size: Goose sized or larger (Large)
• Color: Brown feathers on top and white on bottom. Large brown stripe through eye.
