Park soliciting proposals to provide guided mountain climbing, climbing instruction, and ski mountaineering

MOOSE, WY — The National Park Service has issued two concession prospectuses for contracts to provide guided mountain climbing, climbing instruction, ski mountaineering, and other services within Grand Teton National Park. Services under the new contracts are expected to begin January 1, 2024, and each new contract will be for a 10-year term. 

The prospectus for these new opportunities can be found online. Printed copies of the prospectuses will not be distributed. The released prospectus outlines this business opportunity and provides details on how to submit a proposal. Parties interested in learning more about these opportunities and how to submit a proposal should visit the National Park Service Commercial Services website.

Anyone who plans to submit a proposal in response to this solicitation, including existing concessioners, must notify Jennifer Parker, Commercial Services Program Lead, at e-mail us no later than 4 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on September 19, 2023, by submitting and Intent of Notice to Propose. All questions related to the business opportunity must be submitted to e-mail us no later than 4 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on August 8, 2023.

Currently, Grand Teton National Park has 26 concessioners and approximately 160 commercial use authorization holders that provide a variety of visitor services in the park.

Concessions contracts are developed and issued under the authority of the Concessions Management Improvement Act of 1998, P.L. 105-391, and its attending regulations in 36 CFR §51. Concessions contracts are long-term contracts between the National Park Service and a business to provide visitor services that are necessary and appropriate in achieving the mission of the park, including providing for visitor enjoyment. Contracts may involve the use and care of federal facilities and assets.
