West Glacier, MTThis weekend, Glacier National Park expects that several important park web pages will be unavailable through Sunday. The web pages are hosted on servers in the National Park Service Intermountain Data Center in Denver, CO, where a multi-day planned power outage is anticipated.

Specifically, the park Recreation Access Display (real-time visitor use data), Current Road Status Page, and Campground Status Page may all be unavailable through Sunday.

This time of year, park work crews finalize plowing and spring opening efforts in the alpine portion of the Going-to-the-Sun Road near Logan Pass. The public regularly monitors these web pages for updates on park conditions and road status.

This weekend, instead of these webpages, the public should check the park's Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages for any important updates. People can also call 406-888-7800 for recorded information.

Inclement weather is expected, including rain and potential snow in higher elevation park regions today (Friday). Rain and thunderstorms are predicted to extend into the weekend. Visitors coming to the park this weekend should plan to wear warm layers with a waterproof shell.

The Going-to-the-Sun Road opens to Logan Pass when spring opening activities are complete, and current weather and road conditions allow.
