VANCOUVER, WA - Fort Vancouver National Historic Site's annual change to winter operating hours will be effective Sunday, November 1, 2015, in conjunction with the annual end of Daylight Savings Time (DST).

Beginning November 1, 2015, operating hours for facilities at Fort Vancouver NHS, including the reconstructed fort, Pearson Air Museum, and the soon-to-be-reopened Visitor Center, will be standardized and streamlined. These facilities will be open and will continue to provide a full range of visitor services -- including signature public events and education programs --Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 am to 5 pm, and will be closed Sundays and Mondays.

Park grounds will remain open seven days a week from dawn until dusk, and the national park's Administrative Headquarters, other park management offices located elsewhere on site, and library and museum collections will be open Monday through Friday by appointment during regular business hours.

Permitted events and activities will not be affected, and will continue throughout the national park, seven days a week, including popular venues such as the Historic Hangar at Pearson Air Museum, the Bandstand on the historic Parade Ground, the Great Meadow and Heritage Oak, and the trail to/from the Land Bridge.

The park has expanded its popular Lantern Tour Series for Saturday evenings this winter, and reservations can be made by calling 360-816-6244.

Consistent with past years, the annual winter closure for the national park's McLoughlin House Unit in Oregon City, Oregon, will begin on Sunday December 13, 2015, with reopening in February 2016.
