Wilderness Camping

Wilderness permits are required for all overnight camping in the backcountry, except when sleeping aboard boats.

Campers can make advanced reservations through Recreation.gov. Advanced reservations are available on a rolling basis, three months in advance of the start date. Wilderness permits must still be picked up in-person at the Gulf Coast or Flamingo Visitor Centers no sooner than 24 hours in advance of your trip.

Reservations are not required for wilderness permits. Campers may still pick up a permit in-person at the Gulf Coast or Flamingo Visitor Centers on a first-come, first-served basis. Permits cannot be obtained sooner than 24 hours in advance of the start of the trip.

Everglades National Park Adventures - Everglades City

Flamingo Adventures - Flamingo

Narrated boat tours of Whitewater Bay and Florida Bay depart from the Flamingo marina located next to the Flamingo Visitor Center (38 miles from main park entrance, 50 miles from Homestead, FL). Airboats

There are three authorized airboat businesses that offer professional airboat tours inside Everglades National Park. All three (Coopertown, Everglades Safari Park, and Gator Park) are located along US Hwy 41/Tamiami Trail between Miami and Shark Valley. Shark Valley Tram Tours

Guided two-hour narrated tram tours are offered along a fifteen-mile loop trail into the "River of Grass". For reservations, prices and hours, call 305-221-8455 or visit the Shark Valley Tram Tours website.

Ranger-Led Programs

Most ranger-led programs do not require any reservations. Programs that require reservations will have "RESERVATIONS REQUIRED" in the title and/or program description. For additional information, follow this link to our ranger-led program calendar.
