GETTYSBURG, PA – Tis the season! Eisenhower National Historic Site (NHS) is happy to share that once again we will deck the halls, throw some tinsel on the tree, and bring the Eisenhower home alive with the spirit of the Christmas season!

The Christmas season was a favorite time of year for the Eisenhower’s. Mamie Eisenhower celebrated all holidays, but Christmas was her time to shine with decorations and warm festivities. In this spirit, the staff and volunteers of Eisenhower National Historic Site will once again decorate the Eisenhower home this December. Decorations will include several original Eisenhower Christmas decorations on display at the farm and the nativity scenes at the Gettysburg National Military Park (NMP) Museum and Visitor Center.

Free Open House Holiday tours of the Eisenhower home are available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the month of December. On those days, visitors can take a self-guided walk -through of the home between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm. These tours meet in front of the Eisenhower home. Please dress for the elements when visiting the site. Only forty visitors may be in the home at once, so please be prepared to wait outside if we are at capacity. Visitors on site at 2 pm will be allowed into the home. Visitors arriving after 2 pm may not be accommodated.

Please be aware that there is limited onsite parking. Inclement weather or icy conditions will result in cancelled tours. Be sure to check the weather forecast, the park website, and social media channels for the status of tours before visiting.

While no home tours will be offered Sunday through Wednesday; the grounds of Eisenhower National Historic Site remain open seven days a week.

The entrance to Eisenhower National Historic Site is located at 250 Eisenhower Farm Road, off the Emmitsburg Road, in Gettysburg, PA.

Eisenhower National Historic Site preserves and interprets the home and farms of the Eisenhower family as a fitting and enduring memorial to the life, work, and times of General Dwight David Eisenhower, 34th president of the United States, and to the events of far-reaching importance that occurred on the property.
