Hereford, AZ – On March 18 - 21 , 2024, Coronado National Memorial will be temporarily instating a road closure on the Montezuma Pass Road to conduct road grading operations. The closure will be from Coronado Cave Parking area to Montezuma Pass Overlook, targeting the two mile dirt and gravel sections of the road grading within the National Park Service boundaries.

The road grading project will consist of cleaning out and grading the slope of roadside drainage and fall ditching, grading out wash boarding and potholes, adding new road base (AB) material, and finish grading of newly added road base material to road surface acceptability. Foot, bicycle, and ATV/UTV traffic are not permitted on the closed portions of the road during the closure. The park grounds, trails, and Visitor Center remain open and accessible during the closure period. For more information about Coronado National Memorial and additional visit www.nps.gov/coro.
