Community Partners Host Day of Giving and Family Day at Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, in partnership with African Women’s Health Project International, Little Rock Central High School, Little Rock School District, Central High Neighborhood Association, Friends of Little Rock Central High School NHS, and Bullock Temple CME Church, will host a Day of Giving and Family Day on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

The free, public event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site and Bullock Temple CME Church. The day will feature youth activities, performances by local artists, 20-minute interpretive tours, a tree planting, and a time capsule burial.

African Women’s Health Project International (AWHPI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to improving health outcomes in underserved communities by strengthening healthcare systems for women and donating medical supplies to under-resourced facilities around the world. Founded more than 20 years ago, AWHPI envisions a world where every woman has access to quality healthcare and gender justice.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site commemorates the 1957 desegregation crisis and preserves the stories of the Little Rock Nine, the students, families, and community members who shaped this pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. Through education and engagement, the site encourages reflection on past struggles and the ongoing work for civil rights in the United States.
