Notes: This is not an exact birth date. He was born in May of 1736, but the exact day is unknown at this time. He went to Querétaro in 1763 from where he was transferred to the Pimería alta in May of 1768. He was stationed at Caborca, from where he left on the exploratory expedition of Juan Bautista de Anza to Alta California in 1774. Returning from there he was sent to Baja California where he became president of those missions in 1775. |
