South Campground

South Campground closed for rehabilitation work

This work involves:

• Improving drains that run through South Campground and that move rainwater from Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway.
  • Water naturally drains to the Virgin River, and we are building new channels to reduce its' effects on future campers.
• Assessing and removing non-native or potentially hazardous trees throughout the campground.

Toxic Cyanobacteria Bloom

CAUTION: Many campsites in both South and Watchman Campgrounds are located near the North Fork of the Virgin River. Please be aware of toxic cyanobacteria in the river.
