Zion National Park shuttle bus service resumes March 7, 2026

SPRINGDALE, Utah – Zion National Park’s shuttle service begins on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The schedules for Zion Canyon and Springdale are as follows: 

Zion Canyon Line Schedule

During scheduled hours, shuttles arrive about every five to 10 minutes in Zion Canyon and about every 10 to 15 minutes in Springdale. While visitors do not need a permit, ticket, or reservation to ride the park shuttle, they must pay the park fee to enter the park.

Inside the park, shuttles take about 45 minutes to drive between the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and the Temple of Sinawava. This means a round trip through Zion Canyon takes about an hour and a half. In Springdale, a round trip takes about 20 to 30 minutes. 

Visitors should give themselves plenty of time to catch a shuttle in the evening: if the last shuttle out of Zion Canyon is full, or if they miss the last shuttle, they may have to walk back to the Zion Lodge or Zion Canyon Visitor Center – up to eight miles or more. 

These schedules are subject to change. The park will maintain up-to-date information at go.nps.gov/ZionShuttle.  

Plan Ahead and Prepare 

Visitors should remember the following tips as they plan their trip: 

• Personal vehicles are not allowed on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive during shuttle season. Park at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center or Springdale and ride the shuttle to access Zion Canyon within the park. The Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway, Kolob Terrace Road, and Kolob Canyons Scenic Drive will remain open for personal vehicles.  
• Parking fills early year-round. If parking inside the park is full, park in Springdale and ride the shuttle bus to the park’s pedestrian entrance. Explore existing alternatives to driving on the Utah Department of Transportation website. 
• In general, fewer people visit Zion on weekdays than weekends. Consider arriving early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the busiest times of day. 
• Make reservations early if you plan to camp or stay at the lodge. 
• Check for updates at nps.gov/zion.
