Weir Farm National Historical Park invites visual artists from varied backgrounds and artistic practices—including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media—to apply. Seven artists will be selected through a competitive, juried process for a month-long, on-site residency, taking place between April and October 2026. The program is open to emerging and established artists aged 25 and older at the time of application.
The Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Program continues the creative legacy established by the Julian Alden Weir Family by supporting the work of modern day, contemporary artists. For over 140 years, Weir Farm has inspired thousands, including more than 250 past artists who have participated in the program. The park’s enabling legislation emphasizes the importance of maintaining an active artistic presence, and the Artist-in-Residence Program plays a vital role in fulfilling that mission. Weir Farm’s Artist-in-Residence Program is one of over 50 artist residencies hosted by the National Park Service nationwide.
This program is supported by the Friends of Weir Farm, the park's authorized philanthropic partner.
