Jemez Springs, NM – Valles Caldera invites visitors to take part in its Fall Fiesta to experience the park’s beauty and to learn about its abundant natural and cultural resources.
Fall Fiesta takes place October 7-15 from 9 am until 5 pm each day. Highlights include themed ranger programs and booths each day, cultural demonstrations and art sales by Native artists October 8 and 9, a special geology talk by Dr. Kirt Kempter on October 11 at 11 am, night sky events October 13 and 14 (registration required), and the opportunity to view the annular solar eclipse from various locations around Valle Grande on October 14.

Valles Caldera National Preserve | About 1.25 million years ago, a spectacular volcanic eruption created the 13-mile-wide circular depression now known as Valles Caldera. The preserve is known for its huge mountain meadows, abundant wildlife, and meandering streams. The area also preserves the homeland of ancestral native peoples and embraces a rich ranching history.
