Jemez Springs, NM – The National Park Service (NPS) prepared a fire management plan for Valles Caldera National Preserve and is seeking public input on the plan’s environmental assessment from October 1 through November 3.

The environmental assessment is available for review and comment on the National Park Service’s Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/VALLFMPEA2024. To aid in understanding the assessment, there are companion documents and a link to an interactive StoryMap on the PEPC site.

You can read an overview of the fire management plan process in our August 20, 2024 news release (https://www.nps.gov/vall/learn/news/2024-26.htm).
