Jemez Springs, NM – On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Valles Caldera National Preserve invites everyone to come up to the park and celebrate winter by participating in a series of special events. The park opens at 9 am with the first activity scheduled to start at 10 am.
Whether you prefer to be warm and cozy by the fire or outside in the cold and snow, you will discover winter wonderment and fun at Valles Caldera Winter Fest. Roast s'mores over a campfire while a park ranger reads a story. Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee while making winter crafts. Compete with others to make the biggest snowperson or snow creature. Or reserve your spot on a guided ski tour to listen to winter soundscapes.
“Winter is a magical time in Valles Caldera and Winter Fest gives us an opportunity to invite everyone up to the park to experience this magic for themselves,” said Superintendent Jorge Silva-Bañuelos. “We hope to see you there!”
Plan your visit by reviewing the Valles Caldera Winter Fest web page: https://www.nps.gov/vall/planyourvisit/valles-caldera-winter-fest.htm.
