The hiking and nature trails will remain open, but visitors will need to access them from one of the three trailhead areas. The trailheads are the Lower Fox Creek Schoolhouse, Bottomland Nature Trail, and the Two Section pasture area on the east side of Strong City, KS. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is located two miles north of Strong City on Kansas State Highway 177 (the Flint Hills National Scenic Byway) and is a unique public/private partnership between the National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy.
