The prairie is filled with wildflowers at different times of the year and by September, the fall flower season is upon us. Wildflowers such as dotted gayfeather, Snow-on-the-Mountain, asters, and sunflowers are some of the flowers you may find in the prairie. Before heading out to see these beautiful flowers in their natural setting, take in the beautiful flower-inspired quilts.
The quilts will be on display in the historic limestone barn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 31st, September 1st, and 2nd. As a fun activity, feel free to vote for your favorite quilt. On Monday, September 2nd at 1 p.m., the winner will be announced.
On Saturday August 31st join an old-fashioned square dance among the beautiful quilts. Dance is from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the historic 1882 limestone barn. Come swing your partner to live music being performed. Cold lemonade and ice water will be served. All activities and events are free of charge, so bring the kids, a picnic lunch, and make some fun family memories.
