Learn and Explore

Shenandoah National Park has three visitor centers throughout the Park. Each visitor center is the perfect place to orient yourself to Shenandoah, ask questions, and learn about the Park through interactive exhibits and ranger programs.

 

Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 4.6)

Virtual Tour

Dickey Ridge Visitor Center is located near Front Royal, Virginia in the northern part of the Park. Available facilities: restrooms, information desk, exhibits, ranger programs, orientation movie, bookstore, publications, maps, backcountry permits, and first aid.

Harry F. Byrd, Sr. Visitor Center (mile 51)

Virtual Tour

Byrd Visitor Center is located across from Big Meadows in the center of the Park. Available facilities: restrooms, information desk, exhibits, ranger programs, historical films, bookstore, publications, maps, backcountry permits, and first aid.

Mobile Visitor Center

The mobile visitor center allows Park Rangers to travel to different locations throughout the Park in order to answer questions and showcase various exhibits. While driving down Skyline Drive, be sure to be on the lookout for the van so that you can stop by and say "hi"! Available facilities: information desk, short films, maps, and first aid.
