POINT REYES STATION, Calif. – Point Reyes National Seashore is announcing today a concession contract business opportunity to operate hostel-style lodging and other minor visitor services in the park.
Any proposal, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the National Park Service regional office by 12 noon PT on April 7, 2023, in order to be evaluated and considered for award of the concession contract.
The NPS will hold a one-day site visit at Point Reyes National Seashore on January 23, 2023.
The Point Reyes Hostel is on the site of the former Laguna Ranch. Laguna Ranch is significant for the role the ranch played in the development and success of the Shafter dairy industry and the dairy industry in general in Marin County. The site represents one of the pioneer settlements of Point Reyes, as well as a long-time dairy.
It has operated as a hostel since 1972 shortly after the National Park Service acquired the ranch. The hostel occupies three buildings on the site. The ranch house and dormitory were part of the Laguna Ranch. The third building was constructed in 2011 and contains family rooms and staff quarters.
The announcement for this business opportunity is available at National Park Service Concessions. Any questions must be sent in writing via email by January 31, 2023, to Sue Eibeck.
