MUNISING, Mich. - Through Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore was assisted by a regional Maintenance Action Team to preserve historic structures in the park. These projects included replacement of the roof at the historic Coast Guard Station in Grand Marais and repainting of the garage at the Munising Front Range Light maritime site in Munising.
These structures are an integral part of the maritime history of Lake Superior and the quality work provided by the Maintenance Action team will ensure they last for future generations.
The Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund was established as part of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA). This legislation gauranteed funding for many conservation and maintenance projects across the country.
