Park to Temporarily Close for Weekend

The National Park Service announced today that in coordination with Nueces County and the city of Corpus Christi, Padre Island National Seashore will be temporarily closing for the weekend. The park will be closed to all visitors starting this evening at 8 p.m. April 9, 2020, until Monday, April 13, 2020.

Padre Island National Seashore will reopen on Monday, April 13, 2020, for day-use only. At that time the park will resume operating hours between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. with no overnight camping or parking.
 
The health and safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners at Padre Island National Seashore is our number one priority. The NPS is working servicewide with federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. We will notify the public when we resume full operations and provide updates on our website, https://nps.gov/pais and Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/nps.pais.  
 

The NPS encourages people to take advantage of the many digital tools already available to explore Padre Island National Seashore including the park website, https://nps.gov/pais and Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/nps.pais.  


Updates about NPS operations will be posted on www.nps.gov/coronavirus. Please check with individual parks for specific details about park operations.
