Morristown, NJ –  Beginning Friday, July 2, 2021, Morristown National Historical Park (NHP) will reopen with limited occupancy levels and one-way visitor traffic flow its Jockey Hollow Visitor Center, Ford Mansion, and Washington's Headquarters Museum.

Effective July 2, visitors can enter the following visitor buildings at its Jockey Hollow and Washington’s Headquarters areas:

• Jockey Hollow Visitor Center
• Ford Mansion
• Washington’s Headquarters Museum.

The buildings will be open 10 am to 4 pm Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Several areas within these visitor facilities will remain closed in the interest of public health. The second floor of the Ford Mansion will be closed; however, visitors will be able to walk through the first floor and experience the rooms that are viewable from there. In the Washington's Headquarters Museum, touchscreens in the military gallery will remain turned off, and the Discover History Center and park orientation film mini theater will remain closed. The park’s orientation film will be available to view in the museum’s larger auditorium.

The museum retail stores at both the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center and the Washington’s Headquarters Museum also will re-open on Friday, July 2.

Occupancy levels will be enforced by staff and volunteers and signed at each building. One-way visitor traffic flow will be instituted within the buildings, and benches and other seating will be removed to discourage congregating and promote social distancing in the buildings.

“While adhering to COVID-19 precautions as outlined by the CDC, we are very happy to again welcome visitors inside our museum and visitor buildings. Our park rangers and volunteers look forward to interacting with visitors and to sharing meaningful experiences at these sites.  In addition, visitors can now use the NPS app to explore the park and have useful touring information at their fingertips,” said Tom Ross, superintendent of Morristown NHP.

Consistent with CDC recommendations, people who are not fully vaccinated (have received only one vaccine shot or who are within the 14-day window after their second shot or first shot if they have received the one dose vaccine) must continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces.
