National Park Service personnel from Lassen Volcanic National Park and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area will present information displays on fire management programs during an open house event on April 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Turtle Bay Museum in Redding. Fire management and resource management personnel will be present to answer questions and provide information on such topics as: tools of wildland fire management, Wilderness management, park-specific fire programs, and lessons learned from the 2012 Reading Fire. Lassen Volcanic National Park will be conducting two additional open house events in Chester and Burney. These are scheduled for April 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Chester at the Fire House adjacent to the airport and on April 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Burney Volunteer Fire Department building. These events are free and open to the public. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area and Lassen Volcanic National Park would like to thank the local communities for their support and encourage community members to join the park staff at their nearest open house location for these pre- season events.
