Lassen Volcanic National Park is home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes. Jagged peaks tell the story of its eruptive past while hot water continues to shape the land.

Road Clearing Operations will begin once conditions permit. Clearing typically begins in April and extends through June.

Wilderness Permits are required for backcountry camping. Permits are only available online and no longer obtained from the park.

Expect deep snow through spring. Snow depth is at its deepest in April. Access opens as the snow slowly melts through early to mid-summer.
