It’s almost peak bloom at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens! The National Park Service invites you to celebrate the blooming of the lotus and water lilies at the 2019 Lotus and Water Lily Festival. Join us on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

See spectacular 3-foot-tall lotuses and vibrantly colored lilies at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, the only national park dedicated to growing aquatic plants. Participate in live music and dance performances, gardening workshops, live animal programs and many more activities that capture the essence of the historic gardens.

“The Lotus and Water Lily Festival is a great opportunity to discover and celebrate nature in this unique national park within Washington, D.C.” Anacostia Park Superintendent Tara Morrison said. “I hope you’ll join us this year for musical performances, family-friendly activities or simply a walk through the gardens.”

Can’t make it to the festival? Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is open year-round and offers opportunities for all ages and interests. It’s a great destination for birding, wildlife viewing, photography, picnics, volunteering and school groups. Ranger-led tours are offered daily. For more information visit go.nps.gov/lotus.
