Trail Closures: Cholla Cactus Garden and 49 Palms Oasis closed for maintenance

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif.– Starting today Cholla Cactus Garden and 49 Palms Oasis Trail will be temporarily closed until March 2025

The Cholla Cactus Garden parking area and trail will be closed continuously to improve trail conditions. The 49 Palms Trail will be closed Monday through Thursday for trail maintenance and address structures that need repair. 49 Palms will be accessible on the weekends Friday through Sunday.

Routine trail maintenance in the park helps to improve safety and experience for all park visitors. While this will be a temporary inconvenience, the park considers weather conditions and the availability of staff when closing trails for maintenance. We appreciate your patience and support in our efforts to improve Joshua Tree National Park for all visitors.
