Late on March 26, 2018, a fire was reported in the Oasis of Mara directly behind the Joshua Tree Oasis Visitor Center and Park Headquarters. San Bernardino County Fire and National Park Service Fire staff responded. No structures were damaged in the blaze.

An investigation is underway between San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the National Park Service as to cause.
