Twentynine Palms, California- Joshua Tree National Park management is pleased to announce a new art exhibition by former Mojave National Preserve Artist in Residence, Mollie Doctrow. Into the Mojave is a series of black and white woodcut prints that explore complex forms of nature through shape, line, contrast, and rhythm, depicting natural forms accurately and expressively.

An award-winning artist, printmaker, and curator emerita at the Museum of Florida Art and Culture at South Florida State College, Doctrow remains devoted to the study and conservation of native habitats. Her residencies throughout national parks have resulted in pieces shown internationally. From a residency at the Archbold Biological Station in Florida to the Mojave National Preserve, Molly happily returned to her native California to reacquaint herself with the desert. Luckily, her April 2019 residency did not disappoint with a spectacular spring showing of blooms.

The exhibition will run from August 28, 2022 until October 1, 2022, at the Black Rock Art Gallery in the Black Rock Nature Center, located at 9800 Black Rock Canyon Rd, Yucca Valley, CA 92284. The building is open weekend hours only, Friday- Monday, 8-4pm, until September, when hours expand.  Please check updated hours on our web site at www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/visitorcenters.htm
