Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms, CA

Current Artist-in-Residence, Sarah Tourjee will host programs at Oasis Visitor Center on March 10 at 11:00am and again on March 11, 8:00pm at Jumbo Rocks Amphitheater. Ms. Tourjee will lead attendees through sense-based, writing exercises using the park and Oasis of Mara as inspiration. Participants are invited to continue what they have started while visiting the park. At Jumbo Rocks, Tourjee will read from her book "Ghosts", a different type of desert ghost story, under the stars at the amphitheater. Both programs are free and open to the public.

Ms. Tourjee holds an MFA from Brown University and is a director and teacher with Frequency Writers, a writing community and school located in Providence, Rhode Island. She writes in a hybrid form of prose and poetry and collaborates with a variety of artists and organizations.

The National Park Service invites each and everyone to take advantage of these and other programs offered during the centennial year. Come out and "Find Your Park!"
