About the Library

The Joshua Tree National Park Library is a valuable resource dedicated to preserving and sharing information about the park’s unique natural, cultural, and historical heritage. Its collection includes books, scientific research, maps, photographs, government publications, and archival materials that support park staff, researchers, students, and visitors. By providing access to reliable information about the Mojave and Colorado Desert ecosystems, wildlife, geology, and conservation efforts, the library helps promote education, research, and stewardship of one of America’s most distinctive national parks.

Booking an Appointment

The library is available by appointment only, Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments help ensure staff availability and provide visitors with the best possible access to the library’s resources. Groups are limited to 10 people max.
