HOUGHTON, MICH. – Two deceased individuals were found on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at South Lake Desor Campground, located at Isle Royale National Park. Both individuals have been identified, and their next of kin have been notified. There is no known threat to the public at this time.

Due to the remote location of the campground near Greenstone Ridge trail, a fixed-wing aircraft and a helicopter were used to assist with transportation for the investigation. This remains an ongoing investigation, and we have no further information to provide.
