HOUGHTON, Mich –  On August 18, 2022, returning once again to celebrate summer in the Keweenaw, join Isle Royale National Park and the Portage Lake District Library (PLDL) for Ranger III Family Day. Families may reserve space aboard one of two free, hour-long scheduled waterway cruises. As space is limited, even though there is no cost for the cruise, reservations are required. Ranger III will travel into Portage Lake and back during the trip. To make the required reservations, go online to the PLDL Ranger III Family Day Request Form. Reservations will only be accepted through Tuesday, August 16.

11:00 am: Free Ranger III Cruise onto Portage Lake, Reservations Required
For families with kids 15 or younger, take a free, 45-60 minute cruise aboard Ranger III onto Portage Lake. On Thursday August 18, check in at the Houghton Visitor Center by 10:15 am for ticket pick-up, boarding, and departure preparation.

2:00 pm: Free Ranger III Cruise onto Portage Lake, Reservations Required
For families with kids 15 or younger, take a free, 45-60 minute cruise aboard Ranger III onto Portage Lake. On Thursday August 18, check in at the Houghton Visitor Center by 1:15 pm for ticket pick-up, boarding, and departure preparation.

Rangers will provide activities during the cruise. Light jackets are recommended. To make the required reservations for the free cruise, go online to the PLDL Ranger III Family Day Request Form. Enjoy a family trip to celebrate summer in the Keweenaw aboard Ranger III while cruising the historic Keweenaw Waterway.
