Saturday July 2nd from 1-2pm, join the Living History and Historic Trades Staff for an authentic Tavern Meal mixed with 1860 politics. Consume 19th century politics and tavern Food and ignore the old adage “that politics and religion don’t mix.”  This saying didn’t take into account the role that 19th century taverns played in the lives of everyday travelers, or local Armory workers, to form, drive and create American history.  Experience German immigrant Frederick Roeder’s White Hall Tavern, and make a toast to the grand republic! Registration Fee: $30.00 per person includes period Tavern Menu and 19th century history and mindset of local people that polarized the nation on the eve of the Civil War.  Pre-registration closes a week prior. Period Menu:  Fried Chicken; salad; rolls with pounded cheese; non-alcoholic beverage (to raise a glass to the grand republic), and dessert.

This event is limited to 15 participants. Call the Harpers Ferry Historical Association at 304-535-1523 to register.  Registration closes June 25, 2016.
