George Washington Carver believed all of life's problems could be solved through nature. His scientific exploration began when he was a child living on the Moses Carver farm. Today, the National Park Service carries on his legacy by offering hands-on science lessons with students of all ages. Explore Nature in National Parks! The Heartland Network of the National Park Service takes inventory of species and natural features in the park, and then monitors them over time to see how they are doing. Prescribed burns are conducted at the park usually once a year.
