All facilities and structures are open Thursday through Monday

Visitor Center & Bookstore: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Historic Fort Barrancas: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (last entry at 4:15 p.m.)
Historic Advanced Redoubt: By Ranger Guided Tours Only

Things to Do:

Fort Barrancas Visitor Center features exhibits about the history of the area and is staff by park rangers or volunteers. The center also has a bookstore and restrooms for visitors convenience.

Visitors can take self-guiding tours of
Fort Barrancas and the Spanish Water Battery. Additionally, there is a self-guiding tour of the exterior of the Advanced Redoubt. Ranger guided tours are available throughout the year, visit our calendar page to see current programs available.

Hiking trails follow historic routes used by soldiers stationed at the forts and picnic areas are available near the visitor center.

Entrance Fees:

Visitors must pay a park entrance fee when they arrive at the area.


Visitors are required to show their photo identification when entering Naval Air Station Pensacola, onboard which the Fort Barrancas Area is located. Many areas of the fort have uneven and sandy surfaces, visitors are encouraged to watch their step.
